Precious Metal Refiners - AWA

Why Precious Metal Recycling

Recycling these days is really important if we want to reduce waste and help the environment. We need to help the condition on the planet and don’t want waste/metal waste to unnecessarily build up if it can be recycled.

Anything that has the potential to be recycled should be. Many of us however don’t know how to, especially when talking about specific precious metals, or items containing gold for example.

Did you know that laptops, phones and cameras have precious metals like gold in them? Most machines have traces of gold, silver, and copper, even platinum in them. Gold is still a precious metal and should be recycled. It is a precious, conductive, and pliable metal that retains a stable value better than many commodities.

Obsolete computers are regularly going on to a scrap heap instead of coming to a company like AWA, who can help with precious metal recycling. We can help you.

AWA Refiners chemically refine and melt a variety of precious metals. We accept all physical grades and forms, which are then dealt with in our onsite laboratory. As one of the leading precious metal refiners, we specialise in working with gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium and ruthenium.

Precious metals are chemically refined and melting operations are performed in house, enabling us to process all precious metals and their complex alloys.

With almost 30 years of trading, AWA Refiners can provide the highest quality service for the refining of precious metals.

Buyers Of High Value Metals

We also purchase and process Tin Alloys (including pewters, solders, joints, drosses, pastes, whitemetals and pure tin) and have a high value metal department trading in Tungsten, Cobalt, Molybdenum, Nickel, Titanium, Tantalum, Indium and their alloys. We also accept Mercury.

Any materials classified as hazardous must have the appropriate paperwork, which our buying department can arrange and advise on. We are fully registered with the Environment Agency for hazardous waste (registration number AAT109).

How We Operate

There is a simple, four-stage process in place that we use for the purchase of precious metals:

  1. Samples are welcomed from new and existing suppliers, to enable prior valuation.
  2. We will collect all precious metal-bearing materials, nationwide.
  3. Our team of laboratory technicians will then perform all analytical requirements.
  4. Payments will then be made via cheque, bank transfer or toll refining service.

If you are considering selling a precious metal-containing material, and would like a valuation, please don’t hesitate to contact a member of the AWA team. Don't forget that in addition to being precious metal refiners, we are also a leading processor of scrap computer boards.
